Troubleshooting Donation Issues with Authorize.net
If you’re experiencing difficulties while attempting to make a donation using Authorize.net on our website, don’t worry. We’ve compiled a comprehensive guide to help you resolve common issues. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth donation process.

Clear Your Browser’s Cache and Cookies
One of the most effective ways to resolve payment processing issues is by clearing your browser’s cache and cookies. This simple step can often fix many problems caused by outdated or corrupted data stored in your browser.

For Google Chrome Users:

  • Click the three-dot menu in the upper right corner
  • Select “More tools” and then “Clear browsing data”
  • Choose “All time” for the time range
  • Check the boxes for “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files”
  • Click “Clear data”

For Firefox Users:

  • Click the menu button in the upper right corner
  • Select “Options”
  • Go to the “Privacy & Security” panel
  • Scroll to “Cookies and Site Data” and click “Clear Data”
  • Ensure both “Cookies and Site Data” and “Cached Web Content” are checked
  • Click “Clear”

For Safari Users:

  • Go to “Safari” in the menu bar and select “Clear History”
  • Choose the time range for which you want to clear data
  • Click “Clear History”
  • After clearing your cache and cookies, restart your browser and try making the donation again.

Try a Different Browser
If clearing your cache doesn’t resolve the issue, try using a different web browser. Sometimes, browser-specific issues can interfere with payment processing.

We recommend using Google Chrome for the smoothest experience with our donation system. However, if you’re already using Chrome and encountering problems, try one of these alternatives:

  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari (for Mac users)
  • Opera

Check for SSL Certificate Issues
If you see a “NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID” error, it might be related to our website’s SSL certificate. Try these steps:

  • Refresh the page several times
  • Try accessing the site in incognito/private browsing mode
  • Ensure your computer’s date and time are set correctly

Verify Your Payment Information
Double-check that all the information you’ve entered is correct, including:

  • Credit card number
  • Expiration date
  • CVV code
  • Billing address
  • Even small errors can cause payment processing issues.

Temporary Payment Processing Delays
In some cases, Authorize.net may experience temporary processing delays. If you receive an “Unable to Process” error, but Authorize.net shows the payment as processing, please wait a few minutes and try again.

Contact Your Financial Institution
If you’ve tried all the above steps and are still unable to make a donation, contact your bank or credit card issuer. They can verify if there are any issues with your account that might be preventing the transaction.

Reach Out to Our Finance Department
If none of these solutions work, please don’t hesitate to contact our Finance Department. We’re here to help ensure your donation process goes smoothly. Provide us with details about the error messages you’re seeing and the steps you’ve already taken to troubleshoot the issue.

Remember, your generosity makes a difference, and we appreciate your patience as we work together to resolve any technical issues you may encounter during the donation process.
